As indoor tanning professionals, there are so many positive things happening in our beloved industry for us to enjoy. For example, there seems to be a large number of people purchasing tanning salons these days. In 1994, Jennifer Sutton tried indoor tanning for the first time, and her life hasn’t been the same since. “No one told me about moderation and the importance of lotion, so my early experiences weren’t the best,” said Jennifer. “Then, someone at a more professional salon taught me everything I needed to know, which made my experiences so much better. After that, I knew I wanted to own a salon so I could pass that knowledge on to others and help make their tanning experiences positive ones.” With the help of her husband, Tracy, whom Jennifer describes as “very supportive,” the couple opened Diva Tan in a storefront that once served as Jennifer’s clothing boutique. The salon has become popular with tanners in Towanda, PA because of the staff’s customer service skills. This success has inspired the couple to take Diva Tan one step further… someday. “We live in a town that’s 20 miles away, and we’d like to open a salon there, too,” she said. “Until then, we’ll keep doing our best each day!”
