ANN ARBOR, MI – In October 2013, Tanfastic, a chain of three local tanning salons owned by Carl and Patti Chase, converted its locations to the Sun Tan City brand as part of a new franchise agreement. The couple, who founded the business in 1987, bought the exclusive Sun Tan City franchise rights for Washtenaw County in July.
Tanfastic will remain under the same ownership and management but customers will notice improvements and changes in the store appearance, promotions and additional tanning packages. The switch allows customers the option of using their packages at any of the more than 230 Sun Tan City locations across 17 states. The salons will also offer more products, improved equipment and a stronger customer service network.
“For more than 26 years, we’ve been committed to growing our business locally and meeting the needs of our customers. As we join the Sun Tan City brand, that commitment not only continues, but grows,” said co-owner Carl Chase. “For our customers, the only differences they’ll see are more options and improvements, everything else – the locations, staff and owners – are all the same. Becoming a Sun Tan City franchisee allows us to offer better products, equipment and pricing to customers and the opportunity to continue expanding throughout the area.”
Current Tanfastic customers will not see a change in their current pricing plans. The Chases promise current customers they can “stay in their current plans at the current price as long as you remain a customer.” All customers will be converted over to Sun Tan City clients on October 22; customers can use their plans at any Sun Tan City location salon nationwide.
“It’s a very exciting time for us at Sun Tan City as we move into Michigan with the Chases. We are thrilled to have Patti and Carl as our newest franchisees and I look forward to seeing the continued growth of their business in Michigan,” said Rick Kueber, Sun Tan City CEO/Co-Founder.
