You surely wouldn’t use a tongue depressor more than once,” explains Office Manager, Jackie DeWald. “The eyewear is held in place by a medical adhesive and since the adhesive cannot be ‘cleaned’ after use, the product is only authorized to be used once,” adds DeWald. “You don’t want the dirt, makeup and oils from your face to touch the skin around your eyes time and time again,” she continued. “We take caring for tanners’ eyes very seriously and work with salons to make sure their guests are protected from UV rays, but explaining the FDA position on disposable eye protection as a Class One Medical Device is equally important for salons and tanners, alike,” DeWald concluded.
