PARIS, TN – The tornado that ripped through Henryville, IN in March took quite a toll on the small community. Lives were lost, homes and businesses damaged, and the town’s K-12 school was destroyed. The community’s spirit wasn’t a casualty, however. In the storm’s aftermath, local organizations banded together to ensure the Henryville High School prom would go on.
The junior and senior students showed up to their prom tanned and gorgeously attired, too – and True Colors Tanning in Jeffersonville helped see to that. The salon donated spray-tans to 62 students. The country music trio, Lady Antebellum performed a free private concert for the students, and other businesses contributed formal clothing and other prom essentials. Four Seasons made a monetary contribution and donated an array of items for prom giveaway bags.
True Colors Tanning is also active in other southern Indiana goodwill events. In May, the salon raised $6,357 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana’s annual walkathon. Each December, True Colors partners with Goodwill Industries of southern Indiana for a community coat drive. Lisa Brooking and the crew at True Colors truly exemplify a successful business actively giving back to its community.
