SMITHFIELD, VA – In an act of generosity and compassion, the Ultimate Tan chain recently raised $500 to help a local woman who’s battling cancer.
On June 9-10, a fundraiser was held at Ultimate Tan of Smithfield and Ultimate Tan of Suffolk in honor of Cathy Fitch, a local woman undergoing stem cell transplant treatments. These procedures require her to stay in hotels for up to six months at a time, and the costs are not covered by her health insurance. “We believe that no one who’s fighting for their life should ever have to worry about having the money to pay for it,” said Dianne Ewell, Ultimate Tan owner. “That’s why Ultimate Tan and the community were willing to raise the money needed to help Cathy in her battle.”
Over the weekend, $500 was raised for Cathy, and the staff at Ultimate Tan continues to collect donations. “We have the best clients and friends!” Dianne exclaimed. “They always open their hearts and willingly donate to help their neighbors in need. I personally want to thank the many local business owners who helped us with the event, as well as the staff of Ultimate Tan, who all worked very hard.” Dianne also thanked the people at Australian Gold, California Tan, Designer Skin, Devoted Creations, Eye Pro, Norvell Skin Solutions, Performance Brands, Supre Tan and Swedish Beauty for providing free lotions and promotional items.
“We pray for Cathy as she continues her brave and courageous fight, and hope she gets to come home soon!” Dianne exclaimed.
