Oldsmar, FL – In December 2019, IST Magazine announced the winners of the 17th annual Industry Choice Awards, recognizing the products and people who excel in all sectors of the tanning business as voted by members of the industry – their peers and salon professionals.

One of the most prestigious awards is “Person of the Year” and for the third time, the industry chose Lisa Parsons, Devoted Creations Director of Brand Development. She first received the award in 2014, then again in 2017.

Parsons is humbled by the honor. “WOW, WOW, WOW!” she exclaimed. “First, thank you to every single person who voted! I am grateful to those who took the time to vote for me, as well as vote for our products. I can’t express how much this award means to me.”

IST Publisher, Vince Lorraine, has known Parsons for many years. “It’s not a bit surprising to me that Lisa has been voted Person of the Year three times,” he states. “She takes pride in her role with Devoted Creations, as well as the products they make. In traveling the country and the world on their behalf, she has always been an excellent representative of our industry.”

Celebrating her 17th year in the tanning industry, Parsons says she can’t imagine doing anything else. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think that starting at a salon as a bed cleaner at 16 would turn into such an amazing and fulfilling career!” she says. “I count my lucky stars every day that I get to do what I love, for the people I love.”

As a woman in business, Parsons is particularly gratified to be recognized for her hard work and attention to detail. “My biggest career goal has always been to inspire,” she adds, “to inspire salon staff to never stop learning, growing and evolving and think of their jobs as a huge opportunity. I am living proof that if they work hard, they can turn a tanning salon job into a fun and rewarding career.”
