My pet’s names/breeds are: Teddy (Rottweiler), Champ (Corgi/Shepherd), Hobo (Australian Shepherd) & Ashley (Cavachon)
The story: I rescued Teddy 11 years ago when he was only five weeks old. His family had moved and left him to fend for himself, extremely malnourished and in rough shape. Champ was rescued from a kill shelter on Easter Sunday nine years ago when he was four months old; he was to be euthanized in less than 12 hours if he wasn’t adopted. Hobo was about six months old when a police officer found him walking alongside the street – his hair was falling out and he was starving, but he’s put on healthy weight and MORE in his past six years at my house! Ashley is the baby at three years old and joined the group as a puppy.
My favorite thing about them: Teddy is the sweetest and most loyal of the pack, whereas Champ just demands attention at all times. Hobo likes to be by himself unless it’s one-on-one time with “Dad.” The only female in the bunch, Ashley has taken over the role of BOSS.
Tricks/talent: Each has their own crazy traits but Champ is the standout. He’s mastered opening door handles and door knobs and I frequently come home to find him roaming the house while the other dogs have been locked in a separate room. I guess he enjoys having the place to himself sometimes.
Comments: Being able to give all four of them a great life is wonderful, but the joy they give me on a daily basis has been priceless! Their happiest moments are when I come home from a trip and can spend the weekend with them.
To sum up my dogs in one word: Bliss!
