When tanning lotion giant New Sunshine LLC teams with a renowned dermatologist, the products they create together can easily be described as “intelligent.”
The indoor tanning industry has long been on the cutting edge of market trends, including the addition of quality skincare ingredients to tanning lotions. The bar was recently raised with the creation of the new Body IQTM Daily Red Light Treatment line, designed in conjunction with distinguished Danish dermatologist, Dr. Peter Bjerring. In 2004, he also became head of Dermatology at Molholm Hospital, where he was promoted to CEO and Chief Physician, and has been knighted by the Queen of Denmark.”
Body IQ is different from other tanning/skincare products, Suhonen says, because it’s based upon the “intelligent lotion” concept pioneered by Dr. Bjerring. “This skincare line
is considered ‘intelligent’ because its active ingredients are optimized upon exposure to a specific light spectrum,” Suhonen said. “This concept is the result of years of research through daily patient care and the need for improved efficacy in anti-aging skincare products. These products have been specially formulated to moisturize the entire body, including sensitive facial skin, and work to fight aging by helping to maintain skin elasticity and firmness.”
Dr. Bjerring says that Body IQ’s ability to reduce the signs of aging is more than just hype. “While still in the experimental stage, I was asked by the Danish Nation Television Program to participate in a study that compared my products with many of the market leaders,” he explained. Six test groups were formed, each given a different lotion at random, and all participants used their lotions every day for an entire month. Results showed that the “intelligent” lotions outperformed the leading brands in reduction of wrinkles and skin pore and pigmentation impact. “These results were astounding, considering that my skincare line was not yet on the market, and formulations were still being finalized!” he exclaimed.
