WESTLAKE, OH – More than 120 tanning salon professionals picked up valuable product information as well as sales and marketing tips at Ultraviolet Resources International’s Annual Lotion Symposium.
Held February 9 at the Westlake Recreation Center, the Symposium began with a welcome address by event emcee Heidi Palmer, URI Outside Sales Rep. The event quickly transitioned into presentations by representatives from the various sponsoring vendors. “The representatives gave some wonderful presentations that offered product and sunlamp knowledge with sales and marketing techniques anyone can use at their salons,” said Heidi. “Everyone seemed very pleased with everything the Symposium had to offer.” Attendees were treated to lunch compliments of Light Sources, Inc., and thousands of dollars in lotions and sunlamps were given away during the event.
After recently opening his salon – Dark Tan in West Bloomfield, MI – Chris Hindo knew he would need to learn as much as he could about tanning products and how to sell them. He picked up this info and more at URI’s Lotion Symposium. “I took one of my staff with me and we both found the event to be very informative and educational,” he said. “There are many different tanning products out there, so it’s a lot to learn; but everyone did a good job of explaining all the differences between them in layman’s terms so we can inform our customers. I’m very impressed.”
Although a severe ice storm affected the total number of attendees at their most recent symposium, Team URI is looking for a bigger turnout next year. The Symposium was co-sponsored by Australian Gold, California Tan, Designer Skin, Devoted Creations, Fiesta Sun, Ed Hardy Tanning, Hempz, Light Sources Inc., MR International, Playboy Tanning, Pro Tan, SkinFit Cosmetics, Supre Tan, Swedish Beauty and Tan Inc.
