1. How did you get into the tanning industry?
Before I worked in tanning I was probably the palest person you’d ever seen; I think the shade is called “clear.” In 2008, my best friend was working at a local, up-and-coming, salon in our area and recruited me. I was hired in as an assistant manager due to my previous sales experience and it all took off from there. The salons were all exclusive with Devoted Creations, and I fell in love with the products. I never planned to leave the seven-store chain, because I loved it so much. Opportunity knocked, so I took my current position with Devoted Creations in 2012 and couldn’t be happier.
2. What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing is that I get paid to do what I love and be with people who I view and value like family. It’s so rewarding to watch salons and their staff advance in business and sales after I spend one-on-one time helping them to be better salespeople.
3. What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time? What’s that? Haha. I love to spend what time I have at home with my friends, family, and my Netflix binge marathons.
4. What’s your “pet peeve?”
My “pet peeve” is pretty similar to others who travel a lot: babies on planes, traffic jams, and people who stop in the middle of a walkway.
5. What’s your favorite food?
It’s really a toss-up between mac n’ cheese and pizza. I’ll settle for a mac n’ cheese-covered pizza.
6. What’s your favorite TV show?
Oh, goodness. There’s a show called Bob’s Burgers on FOX and I think “obsessed” is an understatement. I dressed as “Tina Belcher” for Halloween and didn’t break character all night.
7. What’s at the top of your “Bucket List?”
Even though I travel for my job, my Bucket List includes various locations I’d love to visit. I’m really into art and history – I took every possible course I could in college; the nerd in me can’t get enough.
