1. How and when did you get into the tanning industry?
In 2004, I was working at a public accounting firm. After a rough day, I told a close friend that I was ready to make a move. He laughed and said (ironically) that he had received a call an hour earlier about a company (Four Seasons) looking for a CPA. I had worked on the annual audit engagements at Four Seasons in my current job, so I was excited to jump at the chance to come on board.
2. What was your very first job?
I worked for my family’s business after school and on weekends. My dad was a pawnbroker – it was very challenging to learn all the various tidbits about the business. I had to be knowledgeable about jewelry, stereo equipment, musical instruments, guns and ammo. Each day brought new challenges and a large variety of people. Some would come in on occasion, but we also had frequent customers who also became good friends. My dad recently passed away and it was very moving how many of his customers came to pay respects. It was nice to reconnect with some familiar faces and dear friends.
3. What songs would you sing at Karaoke night?
Being born and raised in West Tennessee, it would definitely have to be Country. Some songs that come to mind would be “Cowboy Take Me Away,” “Crazy,” “Strawberry Wine” or maybe, “Did I Shave My Legs for This?”
4. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I LOVE Sushi! I’d have to go with a Philadelphia Roll and Phoenix Roll.
5. What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
Drivers who speed up to pass and
cut in front of you, just to immediately hit their brakes.
6. What accomplishment are you most proud of?
My biggest professional accomplishment is passing the CPA Exam and obtaining my state certification as a Certified Public Accountant in 2003. I completed my education with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting in 1998 and Master’s of Accountancy in 2002.
7. How would your friends describe you?
I think most would say I’m tough but fair. I love to laugh and cut up with friends. I have high expectations and try to do what’s within my power to meet or exceed any goal. Most would call me “Crazy Dog Lady” as my husband Jeff and I raise AKC Boxers. We love our dogs and we might be a little bit crazy about them!
