We recently heard from Gregory Weimer from New Image Tanning in Bismarck, NE, who stated, “I absolutely love the Wolff Bronzing Sun HPK90 100-watt non-reflector bulb!” He says all his sunbeds are now equipped with this lamp model. “These are the best bulbs I’ve used in the last 16 years!” he continued. “We’ve always used Wolff bulbs. I tried some of the commercial or economy products that were supposed to be such a good price and such a great deal …WRONG!
“My late father Ed Weimer used to say, ‘You never have to apologize for buying quality!’ and he was right in this case. After 600 to 700 hours, my UV meter read 13s and 14s – that’s what the brand new, 1,000-hour Wolff bulbs I had bought previously were reading right out of the box! They truly are a 1,500-hour bulb!” Greg says he gets improved lamp life and performance by using electronic starters in all his units, as they cushion the lamp start-ups and shut-offs. “This lamp has lower UVB so there is less drying and reddening, less burning and ageing of the skin,” commented Greg. “With a touch more UVA, your tan ‘pops’ the day after your session and you say, ‘WOW!’ My only regret is that I didn’t start using them a few years sooner.”

These “pilot” lamps are never released to the market; this is simply the first step in a lengthy development process in which the single goal is to assure the performance, results and value that is demanded by today’s professional salon operator.
Once in production, Wolff System sunlamps undergo multiple quality inspections every step of the way. Any deviations from standard are identified before the lamps complete the production cycle. All lamps are subjected to post-production quality hold, where once again, they are tested before release to market.
A small quantity of each run is held back from shipping for thorough evaluation and life-testing. Our ever-expanding volume of performance data constantly updates and refines the standards for each lamp type.
