1. How did you get into the tanning industry?
I started working in the IT department for ETS in the early 90s – a job I landed by a complete accident. I submitted my resume for an accounting position, but I had listed so many computer related items, someone accidentally gave it to the IT director. We were about halfway through our interview when we both realized the mistake. He still offered me the job and I took it – the rest is history. Now, I eat beans instead of counting them.
2. What do you like most about your job?
I enjoy getting to be creative on a daily basis – trying to think of ways to enhance our software products to make the user more productive or lessen their workload.
3. How do you spend your spare time?
I spend most of it with my children; they’re still young at 9 and 10. I love helping them experience new things and I don’t want to miss a minute of it!
4. Do you have a “pet peeve?”
When people are not nice to other people; life is too short for that. If you can make someone’s day, go for it!
5. What’s your favorite food?
QUESO! For those not from Texas, it’s a bowl of melted cheese served with tortilla chips. No processed cheese – it has to be real cheese! I used to have a shirt that read, “Body by Queso.” Sadly, it doesn’t fit anymore.
6. What’s your favorite TV show?
The Big Bang Theory
7. If we look at your “Bucket List,” what’s at the top?
A European vacation – I’ve visited many countries, but never Western Europe.
When he gets free time, Jeff enjoys hanging out with his kids – son Riley, age 10 and daughter Avery, 9.
