OLDSMAR FL – Hot Spot tanning in Nashville, TN teamed up with DC to help boost product sales after switching to the popular product line. “Hot Spot was new to our brand and after they received training on our product line, I believe they felt more comfortable selling it,” said Lisa Parsons, Director of Sales & Education for Devoted Creations. She added, “To give them that big, initial jump and get them pumped up about our products, we had a TANGO (Bingo) sales contest to win Visa gift cards and an iPad for the Hot Spot team member who completed their TANGO card first.”
Parsons and Hot Spot General Manager, Megan Reese, made TANGO cards for each of the chain’s nine locations with a DC product in each square, and each time a staff member sold one of those products, they put their initials next to it. “I think it helped them learn the products better, as well as spark some friendly competition between staff members,” Parsons said.
“The TANGO contest got our staff engaged in product sales and our customers fed off the energy!” Reese said. “We were new to selling DC and the contest pushed our staff to quickly learn the new products.” Reese added that between the contest and Parsons’ expert training, the salons saw a 20% increase in lotion sales. Team Member Abbey was the first one to win a prize ($50 Visa gift card) but she didn’t stop there and also claimed the iPad! “Abbey has been a delight to work with and contributes greatly in making her location the top in the Hot Spot chain,” said Reese. “It’s always inspiring to see young people take pride in their job and push themselves. This contest did just that for our staff.”
