I want to take this opportunity to highlight the Indoor Tanning Association’s Special Fund and the vital role it plays in the ITA’s strategic plan.
This fund was established two years ago to address what may be our biggest challenge, monitoring and responding to regulatory changes proposed by the Food and Drug Administration. Thanks to generous voluntary contributions from industry leaders, this separate and restricted fund has been used primarily to assemble an independent team of scientific experts to help policymakers at the FDA better understand the science around ultraviolet light, sunlamps and sunbeds.
Oversight of the Special Fund is provided by an ad hoc committee of ITA Board Members chaired by Diane Lucas, CEO of Palm Beach Tan. We are grateful for her leadership in establishing the fund and invite everyone to support this invaluable initiative. Please contact the ITA to learn about the fund and how you can participate.
