Okay, we went all “warm and fuzzy” with this month’s cover art. I think we’re all needing as many things to smile about as possible these days – myself included.
I know some people in our industry who are smiling as they see the list of the 2020 Industry Choice Award Winners. Some of you may have noticed that each year, there are several repeat winners. This is proof that those award-winning products and people are still out there performing and helping salon operators see great return on their investments, and that salon operators still want to recognize those who make it happen. I want to congratulate all the winners and thank all those who took the time to vote!
Our Sun is Life® Training and Certification program was nominated again this year for an Industry Choice Award. I am proud to know that so many salon operators have found it to be a valuable business tool. I feel like I’m always beating the “training” drum, but especially in these post-shutdown times, operators must go the extra mile to provide a professional atmosphere in their facilities. Who knows what type of enhanced regulations we could soon face? Training could be more crucial than ever! We make it very easy and affordable. And, those who complete SIL Training are eligible to become a Salon of Distinction – such a great perk!
At this writing, the election is over and our new President and Vice President will take their oaths of office next month. My hope is that the incoming administration will not revert back to Big Government with overreaching and burdensome regulations on our industry (and others), something the current administration reduced drastically, resulting in an economic boom. Let’s all hope that President Elect Biden will not endorse increased regulatory interference … we all know how unnecessary, unfair and devastating it was to our industry.
