Since last fall, things have certainly changed for our entire industry. Typically, November finds hundreds of salon operators and manufacturer reps fresh from a major trade event, re-energized and ready to ramp up for the coming busy season. This year, it wasn’t to be. But the new product launches are still happening! Salons can make room for all the new tanning skincare products and get ready to sell, sell, sell! Check out nearly 70 new lotions in our annual New Product Preview starting on p.50.
When it comes to highlighting the industry’s products and people, IST does it best. For over two decades, the November issue has announced the Top Five vote recipients for our annual Industry Choice Awards. The 2020 ICA Nominees are listed on p.12 … stay tuned for the winners next month! Thanks to all who took the time to vote (mid-pandemic) in the only campaign to recognize the companies providing world class products that help your business succeed.
On the list of ICA Nominees is IST’s very own Sun is Life® Training & Certification program, voted a favorite in the Salon Operation category. I created the program because I learned decades ago that proper training elevated the professionalism at my salons, and helped me keep employees. When your team has the tools they need to provide great guest experiences – AND be better salespeople – they enjoy their jobs more and want to perform at a higher level. Good for them, good for you and your business. Just in time for the return to busy season, you can certify your team for a whole year for only $99! See the ad on p.39 and visit sunislife.com today.
Did you know that salon operators and their teams who complete Sun is Life Training are eligible to be in our Salon of Distinction feature? Being highlighted in a national magazine is great (FREE) PR! Your facility could be next – see an example on p.20.
This has been a trying year for members of the tanning industry – nearly all industries, for that matter. For over four decades, we have not only faced many challenges, but also survived and thrived. I’m wishing for all in our industry to rise above and have a great year.
As always, thanks for reading the industry’s No. 1 magazine.
