Each day, these dedicated individuals prove their worth where it counts – on the frontlines – and many a salon owner has said that they couldn’t do what they do without their trusted manager. In this monthly series, ist Magazine honors these hardworking and deserving tanning professionals…
Basking in the glow of this month’s spotlight is Vicki Foster of Tan Pro USA. Having been with the salon chain since its beginnings, Tan Pro owners Rob Quinn and Doug Pfahl believe she is very deserving of the honor.
Vicki was hired as a manager in April 2001, when Rob and Doug were opening their first Tan Pro USA salon. Thirteen years and 45 stores later, she’s still going strong within the company, which is one of the most recognized salon chains in Ohio. Vicki immediately showed her ability to face the challenges of management head-on, which is what Rob says impressed him most. “She’s a strong leader and sets a high standard for her staff,” he added. “And she’s always looking for ways to improve the performance of her salon and staff along with her own personal performance.”
After so many years with the company, Quinn feels confident in saying that Vicki can be counted on regardless of the circumstances. He explained, “The one particular situation that comes to mind is when a Tan Pro location – not one of Vicki’s – had lost all its employees on the same day. She was willing to come in and work to keep the store running seamlessly, and she also handled the hiring and training of a completely new staff, all while keeping her own store running smoothly. That’s the sign of an amazing manager!”
Strong employees make strong companies, and Tan Pro USA is fortunate to have Vicki Foster to help lead it through its evolutions. With 17 years in business and 45 locations, there’s no doubt that she’s made substantial contributions to the company’s ongoing success.
