It’s a new day in America! You can feel the renewed spirit of optimism wherever you go. From the mall to the coffee shop to the stadiums and arenas – and even within the walls of your preferred House of Worship; to quote Thunderclap Newman, “There’s something in the air!”
And for the indoor tanning industry, this is clearly evidenced by the fact that mainstream media is actually giving tanning salons some well-deserved “equal time.”
When the ridiculous Tan Tax was passed as part of Obamacare, tanning industry leaders collectively warned our elected officials that it would not generate the billions of dollars that proponents of the tax claimed would flood into government coffers. I wrote to my Arkansas congressman and senators that it would generate no more than $400 million over the next 5-7 years, and that it would cost more to administer than it would produce.
And now, as the Trump Administration promises to remove the chains of mindless, self-serving regulation, the writers and reporters for the major news outlets are shifting gears – so as not to miss their ride on the pendulum of public opinion which has clearly reversed direction.
Kudos to Paul Alexander, a contributing reporter for the Huffington Post, for writing this fair and balanced article.
Enjoy!
