Do you remember the last time you were ill? If you do, it’s likely you recall doing everything you could to nurse your body back to health. The wellness of our bodies can really make or break us, and when you feel unwell, tasks such as running a salon can feel darned near impossible! The same goes for all beings across the globe; our wellness greatly impacts the life we live. How do you impact the lives of your clientele? Last month, I mentioned that according to The Global Wellness Institute (GWI), the global wellness industry’s worth was $3.7 trillion in 2015. How big is your slice of the pie?[gap height=”15″]
The size of your slice greatly depends on the services you offer. When the GWI analyzed ten wellness markets, they found the growth to be quite noticeable. Preventative/Personalized Medicine and Public Health, as well as Fitness & Mind-Body were among the top two markets with Wellness Tourism, Healthy Eating, and Nutrition & Weight Loss also making the list. This is what the GWI calls a “wellness economy” – and you can get in on it by expanding your service menu. [gap height=”15″]
Today’s salon clientele want to feel good and look amazing, and with your help, their dreams can become reality. So, how lucrative is it, really? Well, the wellness industry is almost three times larger than the worldwide pharmaceutical industry. This fact alone lets us know that people all over the world have placed focus on their wellness and are reaching for over-the-counter and prescription options less and less often. [gap height=”15″]
What are Wellness Services?[gap height=”15″]
The services I’m referring to should be effective, safe, and provide real results for a health or wellness ailment. Take infrared therapy, for example. Immersing the body in infrared heat can help with weight loss, release toxins and relieve pain, promote relaxation, reduce cellulite and rejuvenate the skin. Infrared heat is recognized for warming at a deep level to break up fats and toxins, ease aches and pains and increase circulation throughout the body. This soothing heat can assist with skin rejuvenation as well; but, that’s not all it can do! Infrared heat also promotes calorie burn though the process of sweating, it breaks up fats and toxins that are released through perspiration as well as bodily functions, and it promotes deep relaxation by lowering cortisol levels.[gap height=”15″]
If you’ve been on the hunt for a new revenue stream and a more diverse clientele, wellness is what you’re looking for! Consumers are prioritizing health and looking for products and services that can improve their wellbeing. [gap height=”15″]
If you have the space to start offering spa services now is the time, customers have bikinis on the brain and trust me, they want to feel fine in the sunshine this summer! [gap height=”15″]
Why You Should Get into Wellness[gap height=”15″]
If you love seeing your salon guests happy, achieving their goals and spending their hard-earned dollars with you, it’s pretty much a no-brainer. Happy people tend to spread the word about their happiness – just think: your business could be a huge part of the story they share! Not only will your guests see results, but your business will see a dramatic increase in profits. Wellness services come with what we call a high perceived value, meaning you can bring in more dollars without really changing your business model. Choose wellness services that integrate into your menu and don’t require additional staff. Call them “DIY Spa Services,” do some marketing, show your clientele how to use them and watch your wellness revenues rise. Yes, it’s that easy.[gap height=”15″]
