1. How did you get into the tanning industry?

I was looking for a new job after moving to Indiana from Illinois, and saw a listing online for my position and was immediately intrigued. I had always wanted to work in the beauty industry in some capacity and be hands-on with product development. After I interviewed with New Sunshine, I could tell it was a place I wanted to be.

2. What do you like most about your job?

I love the variety and that I’m able to collaborate with people from different departments in our company. My day might start with a design meeting with our creative team and then, I might end the day sampling a lotion with our research and development team. It keeps things fresh!

3. What’s your favorite family recipe?

It’s a tie between my grandpa’s gnocchi and garlic bread. Both are made from scratch and my favorite comfort foods.

5. Necessities aside, what one thing could you not go a day without?

I’d probably have to say my phone, but not because of social media. My husband and I live three hours from our families, so it’s how we stay connected. We’re very family-oriented people, so we’re always talking to them in group chats. It makes the distance a little easier.

7. What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

I have a slight fear of heights and small spaces, so it felt daring when I climbed a ladder to a tiny treetop lookout on a mountain in Australia. This would seem like a piece of cake to a lot of people, but it was a little scary. My legs shook the whole time, but the view was worth it!
