[gap height=”25″]Last month, we talked about strategies for success – do you have some in mind? If not, and if the holiday season left you with little time to focus on your business, now is a great time to set goals, make positive changes and open your business up for more opportunity.
[gap height=”25″]This year, you have another chance to flourish, grow, and become more successful than ever before. If you’ve been in business for a while, it’s easy to keep doing what you’ve always done; but with the ever-changing world of technology and sales, you may want to consider new strategies.
[gap height=”25″]As you review the happenings of last year and dive right into 2017, here’s a handful of ideas that will help you make it happen!
[gap height=”40″]▶ 1. Articulate your plan. If you have a grand vision for this year, the first thing you should do is set up a team meeting for sharing your vision. If you don’t, it will only lead to disappointment when it feels like your team isn’t on the same page or doesn’t understand the end game.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 2. Exude confidence in your team, services, products and pricing. Show salon guests what you’re all about – because passion really gets your point across. If you love a specific service or product that you offer, make it known! Your customers are likely to agree.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 3. Help others and experience the joy that comes along with it! Train your team and create informational handouts for your guests, consider ways you can show, rather than tell, the story of your salon.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 4. Practice change. You’ve probably heard the phrase “get comfortable being uncomfortable.” If a change in routine makes you feel anxious, that’s okay; it happens. However, if you can push past those feelings, you’ll be able to make constructive changes. It will also become easier once you accept it.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 5. Pretend to be a client for a day. Go through the whole guest experience, from check-in and retail recommendations to participating in the service and final check-out. Ask yourself how it felt, and then decide if your team needs more coaching or if anything in the process could be better. Your knowledge of the experience your business provides is paramount. If you make small changes that benefit your guests, they will take note.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 6. Diversify, because it’s a brilliant growth strategy and it greatly benefits your guests. Adding variety could mean complementary services or products, it could mean hosting more events, or involvement in community events.
[gap height=”25″]▶ 7. Realize what isn’t working and don’t beat yourself up about it. Even if you notice it’s something you’ve been doing for a long time. You have the power to shift and change to make your business work for you and your customers.
[gap height=”25″]If you are already doing some or many of the above, it’s still a good idea to review and see if there’s room for improvement. When it comes to business, change is a constant and it’s all about handling changes with grace as you continue to thrive!
