INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Those who braved the recent Indianapolis snowstorm to attend Tanning Supplies Unlimited’s 2014 symposium were well-rewarded for their efforts. The event offered a wealth of information to help these “sunshine salespeople” prepare for the upcoming season.
Tanning Supplies Unlimited’s annual event was held at the distribution company’s Indianapolis showroom and was co-hosted by New Sunshine LLC. The event attracted 40 tanning salon professionals looking for the latest sales and marketing education, and the snowstorm that morning helped to provide an intimate setting. “We got about six inches of snow that morning,” said Jim Peek, TSU Sales Manager, “and our trucks were plowing the driveway to prepare for the event. By about 9:40am no one had arrived and we started to get nervous; but then about 10am, the attendees came walking through the doors. Needless to say, we were very pleased.”
The event kicked off with Scott Eggers of New Sunshine presenting the company’s 2014 lotion lineup. He was followed by Ashley Wottring of California Tan Sunless previewing the company’s sunless retail product collection and automated spray booth. Scott Eggers also gave a presentation on sales and marketing techniques, and he was followed by Jim Peek offering tips on equipment maintenance and preparing for the upcoming season. “I’ve been attending this event for years and my staff and I always bring back something valuable,” said Jeff Mills, owner of Sol Spa in Bloomington, IN. “I’ve always considered Mike Gilley (TSU owner) to be a real ally in the success of my business, and we’ll continue to support this event.”
Despite the snowfall, the folks at TSU consider their symposium event a success. “Many attendees told us they found the presentations helpful,” said Elizabeth Corbit, TSU Media Marketing Manager. “They said it was just what they needed to help them prepare for the upcoming season, and we look forward to hosting this event again next year.”
