A short visit from “Epic Trainer” David McFarland of Performance Brands sent sales at Christi’s Health Spa/Pro Tan through the roof!
For years, Christi White has been trying to get Performance Brands’ David McFarland to host a product sales training session at her salon in Lawrenceburg, TN. On June 11, David scheduled a visit to correspond with a recent trip to Four Seasons Sales & Service, located a couple of hours away in Paris, TN. By rolling up his sleeves and actually working behind the counter during Christi’s customer appreciation event, David provided in-the-field sales training for the staff. It was one of the salon’s highest-selling days ever, meaning David’s visit went well beyond anything Christi could have imagined!
“We sold more than $2,000 worth of tanning products just that day!” Christi exclaimed. “That’s about four times what we sell on the average day during this time of year. I was amazed by how much revenue we generated on a day that we gave away tanning sessions.”
For David, the most enjoyable part of his visit was seeing the Pro Tan staff step up their product sales game. As he explained, “The entire team was incredibly receptive to the idea of creating multi-unit sales with pre-tan and after-care products. Everybody caught on very quickly and they all showed a lot of confidence while educating potential clients about these amazing products.”
With the success of her customer appreciation day and product training session, Christi is now anticipating the next time she will see David. “I plan to spend time with him at the FS Expo in St. Louis later this year,” she explained. “We’re also looking forward to meeting the Four Seasons Sales & Service staff and making the most out of the entire expo experience!” ■
