If you’re a Top Salon Operator, then you know you have to Romance your customers. And it’s downright scary when you remember that other salon operators are probably drooling on the sidelines, just waiting to snatch up your customers should you neglect them.
Okay, so here’s the short-list of all the bases you’ll need to cover in the digital world …
Remember to: Tweet them, fb them, IM them, blog to them, text them, call them, FaceTime them, then don’t forget to email them, and who knows what else with technology moving as fast as it is!
Overwhelming? You get stressed, paralyzed, you feel dumb, and your most valuable asset – your Salon Guest – feels not-so-loved, abandoned, and now is really itching to try that other salon “just once.” The stage is set for them to “cheat” on you.
Okay, non-techies; it’s not all doom and gloom for you … fear not!
Even if you’re not a social media-techie-web-guru, and even if you can’t figure out your own cell phone, I have great news for you!
Simple, “old” email is the way to cultivate a profitable 1:1 relationship with your Salon Guests and keep them loyal when they’re away from your salon.
Forget all the shiny, new, flashy ways to communicate! All you really need to start effectively reaching out is a series of tantalizing, compelling emails.
Now, if you want customers who can’t wait to open, read and take action on your salon’s next promo or product special, every email you send absolutely needs:
A. PROVOCATIVE, TANTALIZING SUBJECT LINES THAT THEY ABSOLUTELY CANNOT RESIST, and
B. INSANELY VALUABLE CONTENT (What I call “Bubble Gum Content”)
Guide to Creating Compelling Subject Lines for Your Love Notes”
(Remember: A good email subject line (SL) is like a great storefront. It only has one job – to compel the recipient to “come on in” and read on!)
1. Is the promised message in the SL actually valuable to your customer?
2. Will they understand exactly what’s being promised in the SL? Don’t try to be too clever – a good SL is not a puzzle! Offer benefits that are valuable to them!
3. Does the reader feel like they must read the email right now? Creating urgency with the SL means finding out exactly what keeps your customers up at night worrying and what their desires and goals really are.
4. Does your email arrive with an “identifier”?(like the ultra-cool, very unique and very true identifier at the beginning of this article – [Top Salon Operators]
5. Did you run the email through a spam-checking tool to get past their provider’s spam filters? Words like “Free”, “Offer”, “Coupon,” and “Viagra” will land your email in a spam folder.
6. People scan subject lines, so stay short and very tasty.
Here are three examples of KILLER subject lines that meet all of the above criteria:
