MILFORD, CT – Future Industries VP of Equipment Sales, James Whipple, recently completed the 32nd Stratton Faxon 5K run at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT. The event is hosted by the Fairfield Firefighters to benefit numerous
James and his wife, Shannon also ran the half marathon at Jennings Beach. Running tandem, the couple finished in well under two hours and Shannon had a personal-best time of 1:44.30, earning 434th place. James finished in a time of 1:35.37, good for 165th place overall, and came within 30 seconds of his personal best time. “I’m very happy with that,” James said. “I felt really good at the end. I gave it my all.”
Running has become a family activity for the Whipples. The day before the half marathon, James ran the 3.1-mile portion of the Fairfield Road Races, along with his daughter, six-year-old Mia.
In only two and a half years, James has run six half marathons and four full marathons, most along with his wife. They plan to compete in the Chicago Marathon in October.
Team Future also extends kudos to Logistics Coordinator, John Kristy, on running his first half marathon at the Jennings Beach event in Fairfield. The company looks forward to sharing more news of John’s running accomplishments in the near future.
