On Friday, we kick off the educational portion of the show with “Sun is Life” salon operator session. This program is cutting edge and just like the breakout sessions on Saturday and Sunday, it was designed by professionals who are experts in current industry standards.

The World Expo keynote speaker is Jeffrey Hayzlett. He’s a big-time motivational speaker, consultant, former CMO of Kodak and author who has pumped up audiences for years to get them “real” about what needs to be done to move ahead of competition and energize their businesses. His presentation is guaranteed to stir up old and new emotions and energies for this industry. You won’t be able to leave his presentation without a pile of to-do notes to take back to your salon. Breaking Out
The ITA has arranged for some of the best breakout sessions at any industry trade event ever! In Columbus, you’ll get to hear Texas salon owner David Givans and big-time consultant, Steve Holt, share their real-world social media tips and achievable initiatives. After listening to these two pros, there should be no mystery left about how to pump up your social media impressions and interactivity.
JR Homer, a two-store owner from Pittsburgh and lotion sales specialist, will moderate a panel featuring some of the best lotion reps in the business. There’ll be no sales pitches with this session … just four lotion experts sharing their best knowledge of how to raise your lotion sales, including the best practices for selling pre- and after-care products.
Need help maximizing sunless sales? Bill Mandry (Heartland Tan’s Director of Sunless Sales) and Todd Earnhart (salon owner and ITA Board Member) will share practical tips on pricing and marketing your sunless EFT programs. This tag team has been featured on several webinars and seminars, as they know how to guide any salon retailer, big or small, to HUGE sunless profits.
One of the unique sessions offered for the first time gives salon company owners and general managers an opportunity to have their own private, open dialogue. Not designed for sales associates, this session will give owners and their selected senior management a forum for open discussion of payroll, sales, profits or any subject that they want to share only with “need to know” staff.
Last and certainly not least is the industry’s educational professor, John Farr. He’s a 25-year veteran of the Bronzing Biz and former director of marketing and operations for Target stores. In Columbus, he’ll be teaching attendees how to hire the right people, how to motivate them, and finally, how to ramp up EFT sales.
