RIDGEFIELD, NJ – As increased scrutiny and regulation continue to play a growing role in what lies ahead for the indoor tanning industry, top industry veterans are increasing their support of the ITA’s Special Fund. PC Tan and Palm Beach Tan have teamed up in a fundraiser to be held during Smart Tan Downtown 2012. PC Tan CEO Susan Miller joined Palm Beach Tan President, Diane Lucas, in announcing a partnership for an exclusive sunbed giveaway valued at over $61,990 at this year’s show.
PC Tan and Palm Beach Tan, Inc. have donated two high-performance beds, both autographed by MTV’s “Jersey Shore” stars, Pauly D, JWOWW and Snooki. The donated beds include a uwe Lotus (MSRP $25,995) and a KBL 5600 Alpha (MSRP $35,995). Anyone who purchases a Smart Tan t-shirt will be entered to win the beds. All proceeds from the t-shirt sales will be donated to the ITA Special Fund. The ITA Special Fund is specifically designated to retain scientists to examine and dispute allegations that indoor tanning causes melanoma, to pay for lawyers to protect the industry from further actions by the FDA, and to help with state lobbying efforts against under-18 tanning bans.
PC Tan and Palm Beach Tan, Inc. are natural partners in this effort. PC Tan is the exclusive North American importer of world-class uwe and KBL equipment, as well as being a leading distributor of lotions, lamps, parts, and accessories to the tanning industry. As a founding ITA Board member, Susan Miller has been a committed industry advocate for over 25 years. Palm Beach Tan, Inc. is the nation’s largest salon chain with locations coast-to-coast. Since joining the ITA Board in 2009, Diane Lucas has played a leadership role on numerous key industry initiatives. Both executives have been instrumental in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the ITA Special Fund.
“We believe these autographed tanning beds will enhance any salon. I encourage everyone to support the industry and purchase a t-shirt for a chance to win,” said Miller. “We’re excited to join our friends at PC Tan in our continuing efforts to gain the science we need to support our industry,” said Palm Beach Tan’s Diane Lucas.
