Although the economic climate makes starting a company more uncertain than ever, most business owners are happy. I don’t say that just because I enjoy being an entrepreneur, myself. The sentiment is reflected in a recent survey of over 1,200 owners. I will share my thoughts as to why.…
Recently, The Guardian reported the results of a survey performed by the scheduling software company, Homebase. It stated, “Homebase polled 1,290 small business owners and it turns out that 91% of them are happy.”
That is a surprising result since there was a 68% increase in small business bankruptcies last year. On top of that, there is all the stress and possible mistakes that these businesses have to overcome to survive.
However, I do understand why these fellow entrepreneurs are happy, despite it all.
Business owners know that how successful they are is entirely in their control.
The Core Reason Business Owners Are Happier
Every single one of us who starts a company has certain attributes in common. One of those is that we take responsibility for everything in our lives.
As a result, we would rather work 18 hours a day, deal with late vendors or handle upset customers than leave our fates in the hands of other people.
So, yes it is understandable to me that business owners tend to be happier people. They know that how successful they are is entirely in their control.
But whatever you decide to do to reach your full potential, remember: how great you become is up to you.
