On February 7-8, nearly 400 tanning industry professionals gathered in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ for a two-day event that always delivers top quality education and entertainment. PC Tan has hosted this east coast regional event for over 25 years.

This year, the PC Tan Expo format was changed to expand the event to two days. Friday began with education – the award-winning salon operator certification presented by Sun Is Life® Director, Joe Schuster. In addition, expert, hands-on sunless training was offered by Norvell University and California Tan Sunless. “We have always believed in providing our attendees with the best training and information available,” explained Susan Miller, PC Tan President. “They will leave this event with the tools needed to run profitable salons.”

Wrapping up the first day, the exhibit floor opened from 4-7pm with a cocktail party. Attendees were able to stroll the vendor exhibits, view the eye-catching KBL beds, spa equipment and exciting new lotions while winding down with cocktail. The crowd was abuzz as they browsed the exhibits and networked with salon peers, vendor representatives and PC Team Members.

Following morning refreshments and a brief exhibit floor opportunity, Saturday’s agenda consisted of a full day of presentations kicked off by PC Tan VP of Sales, Paul Manke. Dennis Ligon of Sundays Sun Spa Shops, who has travelled the country as a keynote speaker teaching other salon operators to improve their business through relationship-building and sales, inspired attendees to embrace the attitude that they can make 2020 their most lucrative year to date. Onyi Odunukwe of Glo Tanning Centers, former Mr. Arkansas 2015 & 2016, opened his first tanning salon at age 22 and shared how he grew his business into a thriving, 20-store chain. Energetic presentations were given by many other well-known manufacturer reps from Devoted Creations, New Sunshine and Sun Evolutions, as well as Eye Pro President, Brenda Fishbaugh, who offered Eye Protection Expert Certification.

After a gourmet luncheon in the Hilton’s Sky Ballroom with a spectacular rooftop view of the New York City skyline, attendees participated in a Q&A session with an Industry Expert Panel. Many were very excited to meet and greet special guest Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, a popular New Sunshine lotion creator/spokesperson and reality TV personality. Throughout the day, drawings were held for many prizes including an RCA 55” 4K LED TV, Ring Doorbell Systems, Nintendo Switch, Poly Go Clear Handheld LED System, JBL Boom Box, Fitbit, Amazon Echo Dot, Emeril Lagasse Power Air Fryer 360, thousands of dollars in PC Bucks and gift cards in amounts from $100-$1,000.

The Expo exhibitors were happy with the turnout. “Hundreds of salon professionals packed the Hilton for what was truly one of the industry’s premier events,” commented Jerry Deveney, President of Sunforce Marketing. “It was two solid days of non-stop action.
