Who doesn’t love guaranteed monthly revenue?

Picture that temporary employee you brought on board right before busy season … did she stand there on her first day like a deer in headlights as that new salon guest walked through the door, and sell him a single session just to get him processed through the line as quickly as possible? Or, did she confidently explain (and sell him on) the benefits of your salon’s EFT membership?

If you’ve given yourself and your team the advantage of salon management software, I’m willing to bet it was the latter of the two.

Visualize the possibility of having a flexible tool that allows you to configure your EFT membership program, without having to conform to any limits in functionality, that’s also easy for your staff to use!

When your staff is selling an EFT membership, information on the terms, associated fees, and even equipment upgrade pricing should be readily available. Your staff should be able to easily communicate to the guest the amount due at the point of sale, the prorated fees, and even the date of the first draft – all because it’s automatically calculated by the system, using your pre-configured parameters.

Envision this tanner electronically signing his contract, which is automatically populated with the terms specific to the membership he purchased. And, there’s no need to print a copy because the system emailed it to him, plus it’s saved to his client profile and accessible at any of your locations, so you don’t need a hard copy, either!

Now that your newest tanner is enjoying the perks of his new membership (and you’re enjoying that additional recurring monthly revenue), shouldn’t your software program aid you in retaining that member, too?

Does the ability to give your EFT members automatic discounts on retail purchases sound appealing? How about rewarding them each month following a successful draft? Or allowing all of your members to earn reward points that can only be redeemed when they have an active membership? Would you like to include free bonus upgrades to the next level of equipment, in the hopes that they will upgrade their entire EFT membership as a result?

What about that college student heading home for the summer who wants to cancel her EFT membership? Wouldn’t it be nice to have a tool that allows you to easily freeze the membership in the spring instead of cancelling it altogether? How about enticing her to unfreeze it in the fall by refunding to her account a portion of the nominal fees you charged her over the summer months?

A robust software program will not only aid you in retaining EFT members, but will also provide you with valuable metrics that are helpful in analyzing the performance of your EFT program. Wouldn’t it be nice to know ahead of time what your projected revenue is for the upcoming month’s draft? Having info such as the average number of months that each membership level is being held, right at your fingertips, will prove beneficial as well. Perhaps you need to change the price point on a particular membership level because it isn’t being retained as long on average as the others are.

Bottom line – having an attractive EFT membership program and solid salon management software to help automate the entire process will not only benefit your most valued salon guests, but fatten your wallet each month, too!
