Offering salon professionals a top-notch trade event for 23 seasons, the 2016 Southeastern Tanning Expo was no exception. The venue was packed with 465 attendees and 30+ vendors ready for a weekend of networking, education, and excitement about new products.
The agenda included a well-attended Sun Is Life® Certification session, offered by industry veteran, Joe Schuster, of IST Magazine. “Historically, this Four Seasons event draws quite a crowd, and it was another successful event for sure,” Joe commented. “I spoke with many of the attendees and my feeling is that we have many new salon operators who have bought existing facilities, which I believe represents a positive turnover. Excitement was in the air with the start of a new season, new products and lots of education being offered and attended.”
One salon pro who completed the certification was Teresa Karn of Sun Room and Spa in Asheville, NC, was happy for the opportunity to take the Sun is Life program. “Joe did a great job teaching this class!” she exclaimed. “It’s a lot of information, but he made it easy to understand.”
Of course, there are always great prizes to be won at a Four Seasons event: Seth Stabenow of The Tanning Salon in Loveland, CO took home the Grand Prize – an Ergoline Sunrise 480 vertical tanning system. “What a surprise!” exclaimed the tanning industry newbie who had never attended a trade event. “We’re looking to offer something new to the tanners in our town, and this is really great! I was very impressed with what the Four Seasons Expo had to offer,” Seth added.
Team Four Seasons is already planning their next Expo, but they were very pleased with the outcome of the January event. “We could not have had a better show – anywhere, anytime!” exclaimed VP of Business Development, Jerry Deveney. “From the get-go, the crowd was on their collective feet and positive energy filled the air for two solid days!” ■
