INDIANAPOLIS, IN – In July, the entire Sales Team at New Sunshine (Australian Gold, California Tan and Designer Skin) helped build a Habitat for Humanity home. A total of 17 staff members participated in the effort.
“It all started during our quarterly Sales Team meeting in April,” explained Tracy Ring, New Sunshine’s VP of U.S. Sales. “We talked about ‘212 Degrees of Service’ and the ‘12 Rules for Creating a Service Culture’ amongst both our staff and our customers.” One topic was a quote by Henry Drummond: “Happiness consists of giving and in serving others.”
“Focusing on serving others and the other 12 rules we discussed are key principals that can take a company from good to great!” exclaimed Tracy. “So, we decided to give back by participating in a community service project.” As a team-building exercise for their July quarterly meeting, the team considered several area programs and chose Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis.
“This experience was life-changing and a huge eye-opener that made each of us really appreciate what we have,” said Tracy. “My entire sales team worked for hours with the family the home was built for, and it was an amazing feeling to see their appreciation. We realized that a little hard work went a long way for the Habitat family, as well as our team.”
Tracy said that the team was so touched by the experience that they decided to make the Habitat for Humanity project an annual event.
