MILWAUKEE, WI – Lectric Beach Tanning in southeastern Wisconsin held a series of special events every Wednesday in March to reveal the 2013 lotion lines in conjunction with spring savings and their weekly promotional “Tan Your Hump Day” Wednesdays.
The “lotion extravaganza” nights are an annual event and were organized this year by Senior Salon Manager Tiffany Leysenaar, “They were definitely fun and busy nights!” Leysenaar said. “We served lotion samples in plastic champagne cups so clients could see, smell and feel all the 2013 products we’re carrying, and we poured up some of the real bubbly stuff too, to go along with popcorn, juice and Kringles.” (a Wisconsin favorite you’ll have to Google.)
Clients were invited to try an after-tan product and if they purchased a lotion at full price, Lectric Beach gave them bundled tanning sessions or upgrades, or weekly or monthly packages for free. In addition, attendees received bags containing five additional Australian Gold, Swedish Beauty or Designer Skin product samples – generously donated by New Sunshine, LLC – just for coming to the party.
“The lotion nights coincided with our ‘Tan Your Hump Wednesdays’, during which tanners can use our Level 1-3 equipment for just $4, so we were assured increased traffic,” says Leysenaar. “We posted the events on Facebook, sent email invitations and reminders to our more than 10,000-address database, and featured the events in our spring direct mail newsletter.”
At their four metro-Milwaukee area locations, Lectric Beach holds yearly educational and promotional skincare events to inform clients about new products and extending the life and color of their tan. The treats and tanning create just the right atmosphere to get clients to try something new and a way to show customer appreciation, as well, according to Leysenaar. Senior Field Representative Julie Steele of New Sunshine LLC sent hundreds of product samples for Lectric Beach to give away, saying, “We’re happy to be part of it.”
