The 30-minute session covers all aspects of eye protection, including the new FDA recom- mendations for eye protection for sunless tanning and red-light therapy sessions.
“Our new training, ‘Surviving the Eyewear Jungle’ is designed to train salon staff on how to convince customers to wear eye protection while tanning, as well as covering all aspects of eye protection during lamp-changing, spray tanning and red-light therapy,” explained Brenda Fishbaugh, EYE PRO president.

Each salon completing the training will receive educa- tional materials to support the info learned online. Included is EYE PRO’s eight-page “Indoor Tanner’s Guide to Eye Protection” with a color vision test, info on night vision loss and how to avoid developing “raccoon eyes” tan lines. Also included is a laminated mat for the salon’s reception counter that shows eight types of eye damage possible from tanning without properly cleaned eyewear, which was designed to convince tan- ners of the necessity of wearing eye protection. Lastly, salons will receive samples of EYE PRO’s award-winning Wink-Ease and Viewkeepers disposable eye protection, as well as Wink-Ease Dark for Red-Light Therapy, and Fresh-Ease Refreshing Cloths for After Tanning to eliminate that post-tanning “jungle” smell.
